Delta Community Living Society — Anita Sihota

Delta Community Living Society (DCLS) is a non-profit community-based organization that provides support to people with developmental disabilities and their families. Founded by local parents Tony and Lucia Schmand in 1963, the Society was established to create vocational opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities within their own community. Today, DCLS provides residential, community, employment and family support services to improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities. DCLS supports people to become accepted and valued citizens of their community, and strives to ensure that the people they support can achieve their personal goals, maximize their independence and enjoy the best possible physical and mental health. DCLS also places a high priority on ensuring that those they serve benefit from the active involvement of family, friends and their community.

Inclusion BC extends its warmest congratulations to DCLS and Anita Sihota on this well-deserved honour!
