Our good old friend Arlene schouten feature from nidus website
We want to take a moment to celebrate Arlene Schouten’s remarkable contributions as the President of Nidus Personal Planning Resource Centre.
Arlene’s journey is a testament to the power of compassion and advocacy. Her role as a mother and fierce advocate for her daughter Natalie Vetter, who faced complex medical challenges, ignited Arlene’s passion for self-determination and community inclusion.
With over 23 years of experience with the MSA Society for Community Living, Arlene has been a guiding force in promoting representation agreements and legal planning tools, ensuring individuals and families receive essential support.
Her commitment did not waver post-retirement in 2021; she continues as a consultant to the Mission Self Advocate Group for 25 years and joined the BC Self Advocate Leadership Network in 2019, amplifying her community impact. Her dedication to raising awareness and advocating for education is a perfect embodiment of Nidus’ core values.
Thank you Arlene for your amazing dedication to and support of Nidus.
