|Dear BC Self Advocacy Community, Supporters and Allies,Community Living BC (CLBC) is working with partners to find ways to support people to stay safe and connected through the COVID-19 pandemic. The BC Self Advocacy community has an important role to play to help lead this effort.
This message is to let you know about an Expression of Interest posted on the CLBC website here.
An Expression of Interest is a kind of announcement that gives people information about an opportunity they can apply to if they are interested. This Expression of Interest is called Self Advocates Leading Connection During COVID-19.
We understand that during this time of COVID many of the people we serve are feeling lonely and disconnected from other people.
CLBC wants to pay an independent self advocacy group(s) to organize and offer safe ways for people with diverse abilities to connect with other people during COVID. This is an opportunity for self advocates to:
- Take on a leadership role and get paid for it.
- Create a plan and choose who you want to hire to make your ideas happen.
- Become an independent self advocacy led group/organization led by and for people who live with the label of a developmental or intellectual disability (if you aren’t one already).
CLBC will be accepting applications for the Self Advocates Leading Connection During COVID-19 Expression of Interest until December 11, 2020.

To answer your questions, we will be hosting information calls about this Expression of Interest on:
CLBC looks forward to learning from and working alongside self advocate leaders in BC to help those we serve stay safe and connected during COVID-19.
