Cost: $270 (price includes tax)
per person includes: 2 nights and 3 days accommodations, healthy meals, registration, all workshops, recreation, and FUN.

The cost is only $135 (price includes tax) to participate for the entire weekend including all meals ONLY if you are NOT staying overnight at the Camp Luther Retreat Centre located at 9311 Shook Road, Mission , BC, Fraser Valley.
NO REFUNDS FOR BOOKINGS THAT ARE CANCELLED LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATIONS IS OCTOBER 22, 2019.

The Camp Luther Retreat and Conference Centre offers the following for your convenience:
Healthy meals plus evening snacks
Beds in dorm room set up
Hospitality
Nightly Bonfires for Sing-a-Longs and Marshmallow Roasts
TV for watching DVD movies only
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
I.D. (Identification cards in case of emergency)
Comfortable Clothes for various weather
Medications (if you take them)
All your own Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, & deodorant, etc.)
Bedsheets & Blankets or Sleeping Bags AND Pillows
(If you have incontinent issues, please bring your own Depends and plastic sheets to protect the mattresses)

5:00 pm Everyone arrives at Camp Luther
WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS
Gregg Schiller and Arlene Schouten will go over the Ground Rules and how we can all live and work together this weekend to make this a strong supportive community for the weekend.
6:00 pm COMMUNITY DINNER
7:30 pm 20TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY FOR SELF ADVOCACY LEADERSHIP RETREAT
8:00 pm BONFIRE/MARSHMALLOW ROAST
Join us for a Sing-a Long Bonfire. We will be joined by a member of Courage’s musical band, Devin Modugno, on the guitar by the campfire. We will also roast marshmallows with our friends.
10:00 pm QUIET TIME
Relax inside the Retreat Centre and hang out with new friends. We can also watch DVD movies on TV.

9:45 am Breakfast will be served in the Dining Hall and staff will be available to serve you
9:45 am WELCOME and Opening Remarks by Ross Chilton, who is in charge of CLBC (Community Living BC). He will congratulate us on our 20th Anniversary of the Self Advocacy Leadership Retreat and tell us about the future for Community Living services.
Workshop #1: Diversity in our Communities
10 am Guest Scott Howe from the Special O Inclusive Health Coalition will get our input on getting better access to health care and overall quality of life.

12:45 pm Workshop #2: SelfAdvocateNet.com
Self Advocate leader Bryce Schaufelberger and Jessica Humphries, the Self Advocacy Coordinator for CLBC, will show you the new changes to the #1 self advocacy website in the world developed from the very 1st Self Advocacy Retreat 20 years ago. You will have opportunities to give your recommendations and feedback to improve the website more.
1:00 pm COMMUNITY LUNCH
2:00 pm Workshop #3: STOP BULLYING & SEXUAL HARRASSMENT
Guest Speakers Counsellor Dorothy Hyslop and members of the Burnaby Self Advocacy Group will talk with us about how to deal with Bullies in various forms and ways in our lives and provide you with a copy of their new plain language booklet called “Stop Bullying”. We will learn hot to deal with these uncomfortable situations and how we can recognize and celebrate healthy relationships in our lives.

3:45 pm Workshop #4: DEFEND YOURSELF AGAINST BULLIES
Guest Von Barillo will teach us how to defend ourselves against Bullies in all kinds of situations. Von will show us various ways to defend yourself no matter what type of disability you have.

7:30 pm Workshop #5: The SELF ADVOCACY GAME SHOW:
STAR WARS EDITION
Join your favourite game show hosts Darth Vader and Princess Leaia for your favourite TV show THE SELF ADVOCACY GAME SHOW. This requires full audience participation. Come dressed in your Halloween costumes (if you want to) and enjoy the game show.
8:30 pm HALLOWEEN PARTY
We will celebrate Halloween and have a party after the GAME SHOW.
9:00 pm BONFIRE/MARSHALLOW ROAST
Join us for a Bonfire. Sing by the campfire and roast marshmallows with all your friends and tell Ghost Stories
10:00 pm QUIET TIME
Relax inside with our new friends

10:00 am Workshop #6: ZUMBA FITNESS
– 10:45 am
INSPIRE ME FITNESS will have a Fitness Instructor show us how to stay in shape through the fun ZUMBA routine. Wear comfortable clothes in the morning for this workshop.
10:45 am- Workshop #7: Healthy Relationships
11:15 am
Burnaby self advocate Gerry Juzenas will share with us successful strategies for going out on a date and on keeping healthy relationships.
11:15 am- Workshop #8: Laughter is Healthy Medicine
11:45 pm
Kamloops self advocate Krystian Shaw will share his comedy show act with us and also share updates on his self advocacy work which won him a WOW Award from CLBC.
11:45 am GOOD BYES and Rides Home
