Kayla McDonald Productions was started in 2013. I am a videographer who creates stunning, short films and promotional videos of pets/domestic animals. I also provide social media management. I would like to familiarize you with what I have done so far so you have an idea of what’s been tried.
I took two women in business courses at the friendship centre, when I was first developing my business I wrote an extensive business plan in order to secure a loan through the Nuu-Chah-Nulth economic development corporation.
I was contracted to create 5 travel videos for Jay Silverberg who is the author of the book “Entrepreneurial game plan”
I then got contracted by Boyd’s Funeral services and Toneff Funeral services to do 1 memorial video each.
I was then hired by Wachiay Friendship Centre to maintain their website and Facebook page until January of this year. I was hired by Vancouver Island Community Connections to maintain their Facebook page which is a ongoing contract. I also created/maintain Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding’s Facebook group.

I have done promotional videos for Wachiay Friendship Centre and Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society. I am hugely involved with therapeutic riding as a rider, volunteer and their videographer. I have done 3 videos for them so far including the Touch a Truck Promotional video 2016. I am currently directing/creating a promotional video for therapeutic riding.
Some of the previous ideas I’ve had that never panned out where adding photography services, I created art cards and a horse colouring book that didn’t sell very well.
Last summer I was a participant in the Youth Media Project where I learned a lot about what goes into creating/directing a film. I did two professional films, one personal film “Diversability” and one non profit film for LUSH Valley “Let’s Jam”
