Love Story

A man in a green hoodie stands beside a woman in a wheelchair with a festive blanket. A blue and white fox mascot with a Santa hat poses cheerfully next to them indoors.

My name is Aaron, and I’d like to share my love story with you. My spouse and I met at an adult program in April 2012. We have been together for thirteen years. At the time we met, we were living in different homes.

My partner lived in a home share, and I lived on my own. We enjoyed spending time together. We went to the movies and hockey games. It was when we started calling each other nonstop, that my partner’s caregiver suggested we move in together. I asked her to marry me in December 2013. She moved in with me in 2015, and we officially got married on April 14, 2018

We have done many things together over the years. We both love watching sports, and we did a lot of traveling to Seattle to watch the Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners play against each other. We also had season tickets to BC Lions games, and we traveled to Edmonton to visit West Edmonton Mall.

We love playing video games and are big gamers. We both enjoy playing Nintendo and PlayStation games. One of the things we do for each other is cheer each other on when either of us is having a bad day. As you can see, we enjoy spending time together and helping each other out.

Community Living Month Oct 2026

October 2026 has been proclaimed Community Inclusion Month in British Columbia, recognizing the importance of building communities where everyone has the opportunity to belong, participate, and thrive. The proclamation is an important statement of what an inclusive province should look like: a place where everyone has opportunity, choice and control in their own lives, and where people with disabilities are welcomed as full and valued members of their communities.
