MISSION STATEMENT

Our Mission is to change attitudes towards people with disabilities to prove that we can live normal lives in the community. Yes we have our struggles, so does everyone else in the world. But we can do pretty much what everyone else can; it just might take us a little longer. Self-Advocates hope that one day we’ll be more accepted in our communities.

Our goal is to be leaders and role models and provide information through the website to mentor other Self Advocates to become leaders and role models in life. The website is a way to reach people and to teach Service Providers, families and Government what the key issues are in the SA community.

We want to raise public awareness in our community so people are informed about community living, inclusive employment, representation agreements, and government policies.

We believe Self Advocates have the right to equal opportunities, to achieve their goals and full potential in life.
