First, I live in a basement suite in Kelowna. I been very busy with Special Olympics and working at my job.

I wanted to do more cooking at home instead of eating out as much. I joined a cooking group in November 2023 for 4 weeks. We chose simple recipes such as meatballs,Shepherd’s Pie,Chilly, Butter Chicken with Rice. Each recipe was under 20 dollars. We did all the prep in cooking portioning meals and then labeled the containers and took left overs home for the freezer.

Now I’m cooking at home I make a shopping list, I take the bus to the grocery store, buy my food with my debit card,  do prep and cooking in my own kitchen for myself and my partner .then I label and store leftovers in fridge and freezer. I made stuffed baked potatoes and potato skins at home

We have meals we can take with us to our activities or eat at home. I have more money now to save for other things I what to do.

And  I’m learning to be move independent. I’m looking forward to making chicken pot pie, sushi, beef stew
