topJPGFocus-on-job-300x250Hello. My name is Earl Gregson.

I am a self advocate from Victoria, BC.
I feel people with diverse abilities have the right to say yes to wanting a job.

They will feel important if they have a job, just like everyone else.
I used to work in sheltered workshops. These closed down and I’ve been looking for a job ever since.

I don’t want those workshops to open again. Instead I would like to find a job in my community.
I’ve been looking for a job for more than 10 years. I want employers to know I am able to learn things.

Sure it might take me some time, but gradually I pick up on it and once I’m fully used to it, I’d be good to go.
If I had a job I would want to be there as much as I can.
I would like a job taking care of the environment. Gardening is one of my favourite jobs.

I’m good with transplanting, pulling weeds, watering, and raking.
A job for me is about meeting new people and learning new things. It’s also about having more money.
A lot of people with diverse abilities don’t have enough money.
If I had money from a job I would save it to visit my family, go concerts, camp and for new clothes, and treat my girlfriend out.
I am a person who can and wants to work.
Hiring someone with a diverse ability will be more help for your business.
It’s good to believe in people.

Hire someone with a diverse ability today.
