Everyone has struggles; let’s face it from personal struggles to businesses and professions.
Being an over-comer isn’t just a lifestyle, it’s also a mindset that constantly needs to be maintained and challenged.
Resilience is important because there is always a struggle of some sort needed to over come. According the Marriam-Webster dictionary the word resilience means; having the capacity to change and adjust when trouble or misfortune arises.
So what does this have to deal with me? Glad you asked. I am a person with autism. Daily living means I need to focus more.
My mind works differently when it comes to communicating to people, as well as taking-in and putting-out information.
I took an enneagram test to see my personality results. Turns out I need lots of stability in an everyday lifestyle.
When this is disrupted, anxiety and overthinking feels nearly impossible to break through- even to achieve basic daily functions like getting enough rest or eating proper food portions.
This is great but how does this tie into being resilient? Well, we have the definition and the struggle I am challenged with. How I overcome this is by challenging myself to make healthy connections with friends, family and the community.
To not be afraid to take risks is a healthy challenge along with not being afraid to fail. Failure is the greatest of all teachers. It’s a matter of getting back up and trying again. I wouldn’t want to live in a world that is small with fear and anxiety around me.
I love a challenge from life goals such as fitness, business career choices, to being excited and stepping out of my comfort zone to try something new.
We create the environment we live in so make the most of what you have. Remember at the end of the day we only have ourselves and our mindsets that we live with. So my question is to you, what will you do to improve the quality of life?
